We have a group of individuals that have their stations bridged to one another. They like to answer calls and just say "pick up my line 1" instead of just transfering the call. To each their own... Anyway, this setup works in every scenario but one. They have a DID line that when called rings all 4 phones at once, Coverage Answer Group. When this happens the call is never recognized by the bridged appearance. If you try to access the appearance you know the call is on, it just gives you a busy tone. Any ideas why you cannot access that line via the bridge when it is answered via a Coverage Answer Group?

Do the bridged appearances have a physical set assigned???

Bridged Call Appearance
Coverage criteria for bridged call appearances are based entirely on the criteria of the
primary extension that is associated with the bridged call appearance.
If a telephone user activates Send All Calls on the primary extension, incoming calls still
ring bridged call appearances of that extension, as long as a simulated bridged appearance
of the call is maintained at the primary extension.
While an off-network call is undergoing call classification, the system blocks a user from
bridging onto the call.

If the DiD line does not have a physical phone assigned it will not ring a coverage answer group trrust me. I have had this situation and i have tested it in a lab environment.

prflash, the DID line does not have a physical port assigned to it if that's what you mean. It rings the correct phones, it's just not coming up on the stations as an in use appearance on the bridge. Example, caller dials the DID for the Cover, it rings the 4 stations. Station 1111 answers the call, but the caller wants to speak to the person at 2222. 2222 has 1111 appearances bridged to his station, but nothing appears on his screen (4610 IP phones). He can hit the button for that line appearance, but it will just give a busy tone. But If a call is placed directly to 1111, they can put that call on hold and 2222 can access it from the bridged appearance.

I tried giving an open station the coverage path to the answer group, it rang into the coverage group as if that station dialed it but same result. Call can be answered by anyone in the answer group, but cannot be picked up via bridged appearance after that.

In a coverage answer group the call is presented to all users in the group. As advertised the first user that grabs the call the other users loose the call. In theory the call is not actually on the appearance of the guy that took the call. It's almost like a soft appearance.

I hope this makes sense

1a2 to ip I seen it all

1a22ip, you are correct. What I did was Bridge the Coverage Answer DID and then called it. Sure enough, the call appearance it rings in on is what stays active on the Bridge, and you can pick it back up from there as well.

So I'll have to tell them they either get more Bridged lines, or they start using the transfer button :)

Thanks!
