Everything is working great, except I'm trying to create a bridged appearance to an extension that isn't logged. Whenever i try to pick up the bridged appearance, i just get a beep.

I want the main line to be a full "user" with voicemail etc, but there will never be a phone plugged into it. I have bridged apperances to the main line on 3 phones but they dont ring/work unless i connect a phone to the main line.

Anyway around this or do i need to make a hunt group or something? thanks

Assign a line ID to the line.

Set its incoming call route to the phantom user.

Set the real users to line appearance buttons, not bridged appearance buttons.

Try the hunt group option, route incoming calls to a hunt group an make the 3 phones members of the group and make the hunt type 'Group'. You can then route unaswered calls to VM just like it was a user.

this is what i did.. thanks!

It doesn't let you do that, unfortunatley. In our office, people have appearances for their analog modem lines so they can get on the line and ask someone to transfer them to a specific modem extension. I thought I could just create an appearance for the modem line's user. Yeah, that didn't work. Same deal; Beep. They don't let Bridged Appearances work when the user isn't logged in, if the phone is physically unplugged (even if assigned to a port), or a user that is used on an analog port.
