number 1 is the least you can do. You must also set
Bridged Call Alerting? y on her phone or use the per button
ring control.

you may want to add a bridge of each call-appr that her boss has to her phone.

I was working on the same thing and found a section in the Definity system's Little Instruction Book pages 46 and 53 it explains about bridged apperance and coverage answer groups that may help you. I would add the boss' phone number to hers as a bridged app with ring control Y.

I would NOT set up your step 2, as I don't know of very many bosses that want their admin assistant's calls to ring on their phone.

Let's say the boss has three call appearance buttons on his phone. You would want to either add bridged appearances of all three of his buttons, or add the first two and make sure the option "Auto Select Any Idle Appearance?" is set to "y" on her station. That way, if she happens to have answered two of his calls she will still be able to transfer them.

can i set both bridged call alerting and per ring control set to yes on her phone?

i dont think i need to set bridged call alerting set to yes on her boss phone....correct?

yes is the answer to both questions

can i set both bridged call alerting and per ring control set to yes on her phone?

i dont think i need to set bridged call alerting set to yes on her boss phone....correct?

thanks,

i also see field R in bridged appr which is set to N.

shall i set to y? i assume it R is ring....

You do realize that she will not be able to transfer those calls back to her boss. She is on one of his lines which is why it will not work.

The best way to do this is to let the boss have control on what calls and when he wants them to go directly to his receptionist or administrative assistant.

This would be a coverage path with the assistant as the first point of coverage. She can use priority to make the calls go back to him even with SAC activated. She can use the direct transfer to VM if that call needs to go to his voice mail. And all he needs to do to deactivate it is hit SAC to get his calls when he wants to.

Thats my thoughts anyways...
