Running IPO v4.2(4) and have incoming calls routed to and extension with 6 call appearances and the box next to Reserve Last Appearance is checked. There are 3 other phones which have 5 bridged appearances off of the 1st. The 4 phones should be able to receive 5 incoming calls and the 6th call should ring dierctly to voicemail. The problem is the 6th call, even with Reserve Last Appearance selected, is still alerting the main phone. Any ideas?

· Reserve Last CA: Default = Off, Software level = 4.0+.
Used for users with multiple call appearance buttons. When present, this string stops the users last call appearance button from being used to receive incoming calls. This ensures that the user always has a call appearance button available to make outgoing calls and to initiate transfers and conferences. For pre-4.0 IP Office this option is set by adding the RESERVE_LAST_CA= option on the User | Source Numbers tab.

This is what the manual says, if you do not have a free appearance button left then you should open a ticket with Avaya.
you could try to do a workaround and use cover appearance instead then call cover to the other extensions without the actual buttons lighting up and see then if the settings work, that is of course a different setup then the one you have and the users need to work differently to pass calls inbetween each other.

Coverage would work if the other users did not need to have access to the appearances.

the last few appearances can be changed to park buttons then everybody has access again, then the call gets parked and appears the same way on a button and can be picked up the same way again. Slightly different way of doing things but only makes sense if the last call appearance really stays open when it gets changed.
