bridge appearance and abbr. prog

We have a G3si with 6408D+ phones. Abbreviated-Programming does not work on a bridged phone (3 bridged appearances, none of it's own) It gets a fast busy when the prog softkey is pressed. I double checked the Auto Select Any Idle appearance setting and it is set to yes.

Not sure where to go from here. Any solutions? Thanks!

Abbr prog is for the station the button is on, since the station does not have it own call appr it can not be programed as such.
