Howdy - trying to hook up a TN556D to Digi Modems in a RAS server. Set up BRI Ports as WCBRI Data Mods w/ Spids in the switch, cross connected from 110 blocks to RJ45 Jacks, connected to Digi ports using line cords from . Statusing the BRI mods shows "disconnected", calls to data mods ring twice and disconnect. Suspect wiring, anyone got any ideas, or wiring info?? Would love a reply from Roche...Thanks.

do the SPIDS end in 0101? ie: your dmod extension 1234 your spid 12340101... I vaguely remember this, its been awhile. Maybe it'll help~

We have WCBRI ports for video conferencing and extender units going from 110 to RJ 45 if you want the PIN out colours let me know!

Here they are:

110 Switch 4 Pair wire Jack Pin #
Wallfield at punchdown ATT 103 Type
------------------------------------------------------
White/Blue ----------- White/Blue 5
Blue/White ----------- Blue/White 4
White/Orange ----------- White/Green 3
Orange/White ----------- Green/White 6

The White/Brown can be used to provide power if the BRI port is too far from the switch. I can't remember the distance sorry. Hope this helps

Thanks

Chris

Thanks Chris,

I appreciate the straightforward manner in which you provided the info - something that's been hard for me to get elsewhere! This is the way I originally wired the jacks, and I've redone it, but I'm still coming up with status=disconnected when I status the data mods on the switch.

I know that "Roche" suggested this application (bri ports connecting to Digi ports in RAS server) in another post on this board, but I don't know if he's actually using the app, and haven't heard back from him - are you using this app, by chance? If so, can you provide me with suggestions on what else I might check in the switch or the Digi boards? I'm pretty sure I've got the config correct, with regards to spids (9 digits = 000+data mod ext+endpoint id i.e. 000123401), etc...

I'm beatin my head against the wall on this one, so any help is much appreciated!

Dialtone, here is how I have my data modules setup. The second data module for this port will have an endpoint id of 02.

Here is what the Digi modems should be configured as:

Datafire Modem setup
Modem Nationality: United States

Let me know if this doesn't help.
Roche.

Thanks Roche,

I do appreciate the info, and your posting the config - it always helps to have someone else's form info right in front of you to compare. I've modified my data mod config to mirror yours, but have to wait till tomorrow for the data guys to check on the digi setup. I'm still suspicious of the wiring; if you could likewise post your wiring & cross-connect setup, or confirm what Clausen posted above, then I'll have the full picture.

Thanks again!

=DT=

clausen's post on pinouts is right.
Keep posting if you need more help.

Roche

Thanks, Digi and BRI set as above, but data mods still statusing with "disconnected". When I make a test call, it rings twice and hangs up. I can busy and release, but to no avail...got any more ideas on what might be wrong? I've placed an order for a tech to be dispatched, in case it's the BRI board itself, but it tests fine....?

Thanks again to all for the expert help.

have you checked the sync?, I have noticed that on some switches I have serviced the T1's were clocked from the tone board, that's a no-no in its self, but with your app it would cause dropped lines too.
