Hi

I want to enable common logging on our BorderManager 3.5 sp3 server, and after a bit of scratching orund on the net I found the following:

All seems very straightforward except that we don't have a BorderManager Server object in nwadmin !?!

Does anyone know how to make this object visible in the NDS tree?

Thanks in advance for your help

I'm having somewhat of a similar problem...

When I go into NWADMIN32 the option for Bordermanager under tools or options is greyed out, yet I know that some of my ports are being filtered. I want to be able to get access to bordermanager from NWADMIN32 but havent been able to?

When I check on my Server objects it says its not installed in either server however, the guy before me said that i wouldnt have to configure anything with bordermanager that it was already done.

What can I do to gain access to Bordermanager?

Thanks

do you have the proper snap-ins? installed?

Try builidng a clean copy of NWADMIN32 (you can download 5.9f) and place only the BM snap-ins into it (run from alternate location, like your local hard drive).

Also, do a DS health check

Maybe all of the modules aren't loaded on the server. Filtering is configured by FILTCFG.NLM.. I don't believe you can see your filters in NWADMIN.

The filters also run independent of the proxy and other bm components. In fact, filters are built into NetWare (5.1 or higher?) and don't require bordermanager at all.

I have found that if the proxy.nlm is not loaded on BorderManager, BorderManager is greyed out in NWAdmin under Tools. Also make sure you have selected the correct server.

The TID that jrcmcookies posted did the trick for me!

What was simply required was to type BRDSRV.NLM at the server prompt. Then within NWADMIN32 the BorderManager option under tools is available.

My question is, now that I have Bordermanager accessible how do I use it to protect my network. More specifically, is its only use is configuring Rules thru this option in NWADMIN?

Is there a resource I could use to configure Bordermanager?

Thanks
