Border Manager Install

Hello again

i have and existing 6.5 Tree and we are looking for a new web filtering solution. We have licenses for Border Manager which I would really like to try. My question is do i need to install the BM server into the existing tree or can i set it up in a tree of it's own for testing purposes.
