Boot up Problems

I have Win2000 professional running on my computer with a 10 GB hardrive. Whenever i restart my computer it bombs out saying "Press any Key to reboot", However if i put in my windows 2000 professional install CD it boot up from the cd. How can i fix the problem so that it boot s from the hard disk instead of requiring a cd everytime.

You might have got stuck in the infamous "Reboot in DOS-Mode bug. The only way that I have ever saved myself from this trap is format: not a pleasant proposal.

Well i did that and still it gives me the same problem. The other thing i also remeber doing was resetting my bios to the original setting and now i notice that the primary master has been defaulted to my floppy drive and the primary slave is my hard disk. Can i change the primary master/ slave settings from the BIOS or i have to open up my box and fix the jumpers. I have an ASUS P3C2000 MotherBoard and a Maxtor hard disk.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you mistaking boot order for device detection?
The BIOS (usually in the 2nd or later page) gives you the choice of boot devices...so you can enable the CDROM or floppy to boot before the hard drive...
The 1st section of the BIOS is usually the 1 that has master slave settings in it...and there's no reason for the floppy drive to be set as primary master. If it is your motherboard controllers are going wacky.

maybe you just have to go into cmos and change your settings to start with "c" and then cd or other.
