I have 2 40GB IDE hard drives, disk 0 is partitioned as 8GB and 32GB. Windows 2000 Server is installed in the 8GB partition. Both partitions are mirrored using Windows 2000 onto disk 1.

How should my boot.ini look if I want to boot to disk 1 in the event that disk 0 dies? Both drives are masters one on IDE Chan 1 and the other on IDE Chan 2.

TIA

Dan

Change the numeric in the first entry from 0 to 1, i.e.:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

multi(0) becomes multi(1)

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(1)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(1)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

Obviously I copied this from my 2000 Professional box, but it is essentially the same.
