boot solaris 9 without graphic interface

have built a vmware of soalris 9 yet when it gets to the point of starting up the desktop login and hangs.

how can i get it to start up just to the login prompt ... thanks.

Are you getting to the CDE login screen? If so, one of the options is a Command Line Login...

No it doesn't get that far i want to disable the CDE startup and just have a login prompt as the CDE is hanging the virtual image.
