I have installed VPC 6 on os 9 on my ibook, everything worked fine, windows installed great and i even installed office and used the ibook for number of weeks without any gliches, until i installed osx, then it kept crashing, so I cleaned the drive did a full install of 9 and x and installed VPC, everything seemed tickety boo and i created a hard drive image, the problem was when I booted the hard drive image, i got the dos prompt "no os found do you wish to install" , when i hit the "Y" key i got the prompt again, when i hit any key i get the prompt every time. unfortunately ther was no uninstaller on the disk, so i cant seem to clean up and start again. can anyone help with this, im at my wits end.

Never ever, bloody anything, ever

When you create a hard drive image, it is basically a blank hard drive. If you want to install, you have to do it from either a bootable CD (make sure its captured) or with a boot floppy image of some sort.

If you saved your good image from before, just put it in the VPC folder and then create a new Virtual machine and point it to the image you just put in the folder. It will then boot like normal.

Every time I try to install XP Professional on my VPC, the CD isn't recognized as "bootable" so I have to capture the boot floppy on the disc. That works with ALL the installers I have trouble with.

Good luck!
