I am trying to get the night ringer on a UTI1 to work via a analog port on an IP Office 500 V2. The manual and Bogen is telling me that I need to a dry contact closure, my guess is to simply short the NTR/C port to feed the +5V. I have googled dry contact closure and I see a bunch of Viking paging interfaces but I cannot find anything that is simply a basic dry contact that can be activated with the voltage of an analog port. Anybody knows of an inexpensive dry contact closure that I can use for this project or maybe somebody has done it in a totally different way and is willing to share the recipe.
By the way, Bogen did not recommend a contact closure, they simply recommended scrapping the UTI1 for the UTI312 now that is an excellent suggestion that would have been very nice to know about 3 months ago before we quoted and closed the sale and the PBX was installed.

Ringing over paging - from Viking, you want the K-600F

But, you can use a WMT-1A matching transformer and an analog station port. Program the port as an OFFHOOK Station, without Call Waiting, Answer Call Waiting, or Busy on Held. The screw terminals of the WMT-1A go to the Tip and Ring of the Analog Station. The RCA cord goes to the Background Music input of the UTI-1. Take your speakers out of the Page and BGM output. The ringing over paging will sound like a "ringback" signal

TouchToneTommy, you got my attention because I have a ton of WMT-1A laying all over the place, everything is crystal clear until you get to the "Take your speakers out of the Page and BGM output" section where you lost me, what do you mean by what you said? Are you trying to say that since we are injecting the ring back to the music port what you mean is to move the Paging amplifier to the Page & Music port?
By the way Bogen recommended the NR100, they suggest you put it between the UTI1 and the Amplifier, but if I am going to have to purchase something I am leaning more towards the LDB-2.

Here's the job aid I made for our field techs for a specific customer that does this.
Programming:
1. Create and analog extension, name it Night Bell and include it in the main hunt group
2. Under extensions, find the extension, select the Analogue tab and set to Standard Telephone
3. Under users, find the extension and select the Telephony tab
4. Check the Offhook Station box and UNCHECK the Call Waiting On, Answer Call Waiting on Hold, and Busy on Held boxes
5. Connect the soeaker tip and ring leads to the PAGE AND MUSIC terminals on the UTI-1
6. Connect the tip and ring leads from the analog station port to the WMT-1A, using the 2 outer screw terminals
7. Plug the RCA lead from the WMT-1A into the RCA port on the UTI-1 labeled Music Input
8. The RCA can be plugged into either the left or right port

Your effort alone deserves multiple stars, whether the solution works or not. Another good job - thanks TTT!

I agree with crumthwacket TTT this is nice work and deserves another star

I agree with everybody here great work, sorry it took so long to reply but right after I posted my followup question I went running to our demo unit, garbed one WMT-1A, one amplifier and one speaker and rather quickly got the analog extension ringing on the PA. Once I got that to work I was then able to put two and two together and it came to me, I had in mi mind the same exact image you posted here. Thanks!

Our company just did inventory this past week and we found a box of these guys. They would have come in handy on several installs in the past had we known we had them.
