Hello,

at my office we get an error when we try to export a report to DBASE. It says that there is an problem with column names being the same (it involves a column 'period name' and 'period number' now since dbase handles column names with a max of 8 characters, both columns are named 'period_n'). Is there any way to alter column names in the report, export or something?

Thanks for your time,
Venim

Nope. There is no way to do this. The issue is that when you export, you are exporting a data provider which has it's names sourced from the universe.

If your object names are longer that 8, you have a problem. You're going to have to fix it in the universe.

Let's ask the real question: Does any one actually use DBASE any more?
