I keep getting this blue screen error :

page_fault_IN_NonPaged_Area

Does anyone out there know what this means ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was getting this along with a PF_error or something.

In my experience "paging" is to do with RAM. In the end i took the plunge and replaced my RAM, and ever since i havent had a prob.

I would reccomend that if you have 2 RAM chips installed.... take one out and see if it solves the prob... if not take the other one out... see if it does.

If you havent got 2 chips, try to borrow the same type of RAM off a friend and install that insted, to see if it makes a difference.

I have 512 mb ram and 8 of it is shared. I'll try what you suggested and let you know what happens.

I would see if this started recently after installing new hardware or device drivers. The error indicates that the memory could not be written, which could be a sign that there was a conflict. It could also indicate defective memory. John D. Saucier

I agree with Plank,

I had this problem when I upgraded from 2000pro to XPpro. Check your memory chips, one at a time (start with the oldest one, or one that might be different from the rest), by taking them out and rebooting your machine.

good luck!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I have to find time to open up my PC and check into it. I'll let you know what happens.
