My son recently (2 weeks ago) installed new 512 RAM in vacant slot, and removed a 256 from the "other" type of slot. No problems first week, but getting occasional blue screen referring to maybe doing a "disabling caching or shadowing". Event ID is 1003. Error line is~STOP: 0x0000008E. Can find some references to it on other sites, but nothing to really start to mend it. Does he have a RAM clock speed incompatibity, possibly. If so can we adjust RAM clock speed and if so, how?
Any other thoughts would be appreciated. machine is P4. Shall try and post better hardware details (M/board etc, but espec RAM details and CPU speed) next evening here (Australia)He's aleady gone to bed! Cheers
