I just installed some windows updates and now my display on startup is a series of vertical blue lines on a black background. If I login to windows, the display changes, but is very distorted - it's just random colours and makes no sense at all. However I still get startup sounds. Any idea on how to get my display back to normal? Thanks.

System =: P4 2.6Ghz, almost 400Mb RAM,
XP Home
Norton Antivirus
Video card: GeForce4MX 64MB

I got some help and solved the problem by booting into safe mode (F8) and then rolling back the display drivers while in Device Manager. Thanks.

Did you install the nVidia driver update? I've just done this and it completely screwed up my graphics and Monitor resolution, which I couldn't alter.
Try rolling back the drivers. If that doesn't work do a SYSTEM RESTORE. Good luck.
