I used to try to do stuff like this with napster
and aim back in the day. What these guys did was
re-direct all client connects to server/router port(s)
and deal with them there so it was very hard to
block traffic based on dst ports.
You can always try to null route destination IM servers
for these providers. In any case a solution like this fails when a savvy user sets up a home server as a proxy or
utilizes an open proxy.
