Greeting all,

We are getting an alot of spam form a certain IP address that we would like to block in our Exchange Server.

Question is where do we do we add this address?

We have gone into the Exchange Admin and gone to Internet mail service /connections and clicked on the specify by host button. Here it asks us what IP Address and Mask of the Host.. We have put in the exact address of the Host but do not know the mask. According to the Help file if you put in the exact address and do not specify a mask it will only block that address and not others in that range.. But it will not let us say OK until we put a subnet mask in..

Should we put 0.0.0.0 and call it good .

Helpppp Pleaseeeee

Thanks in advance..

We have tried that but it did not work.. was wondering on 0.0.0.0 ?? any ideas

Thanks
Jeff

I guess you could try it out...but how about just applying a classful subnet mask to the address by it's first octet?

If the first octet is 1 - 127 apply a class A mask
If it's between 128 and 191 apply a class B mask
If it's between 192 and 223 apply a class C mask
