I have an S8700 location that doesn't want outgoing Caller ID information passed, except for calls going to 911. The trunk is a PRI SmartTrunk. I suppose I could carve a channel out and make a separate trunk group for 911 calls and send calling party information only on that trunk group. Is there a better solution by making a change to my existing trunk group or route patterns?

This is exactly what I had to do to get it to work. It's been running this way for a few months without incident. I split 2-3 channels off my PRI and built a separate route pattern and pointed 911 calls to it. When someone dials my cell, I route it over this trunk too so I know who's calling. I talked about it some months back in this thread.

FYI...

If you dont pass CLID to the LEC/911 service they will just put the BTN on the call. This is how we had it set at our last company. The issue was that the BTN didnt go anywhere, and the police were always showing up on false alarms. If you got the BTN route make sure its the main number for the company.
