I was wondering how to block sending an auto-reply/response to opening an email.

As y'all, there are programs that track how many times you've opened an email and verificications that you've opened it at all.

More info re your environment, like what mail client you're using, do you use an Exchange Server, etc. would help.

Sorry, Im not incredibly well versed in the workings of the computer - I learn quickly, though.

Im running Microsoft Outlook 98,

Zone Alarm firewall

Windows XP Professional

our mail server is maintained/provided by our ISP -

Not sure about Outlook 98 since I am running Outlook 2000.

But in 2000:
Tools|Options|Preferences|E-Mail Options|Tracking Options|
Check: Never send a response.

in Outlook 2000 what would the registry key be to change that never send a response box?

for some reason that option is greyed out when I go through Outlook...

If its grayed out, it probably means you host your own email and you're running Exchange 5.5. That's why it's greyed out, you can't block them if you're using Exchange 5.5. We use a spam filter (XWall) to block them.

Cheers.

Is XWall an Outlook add-in?
