Howdy All,

The directing partner where I work has asked that I block all incoming e-mail from a specific person (reason unknown to me and I don't really want to know); Does anybody know a method of doing this with exchange 2003 easily?

I have symantec mail security as well. I do have GFI Mail essentials installed, I've not reviewd what is considered the "free" part other then the otugoing mail notice. Is the "black list" part of GFI also free?

Other ideas on this?
I have some outlook 2003 and outlook 2000 clients. working on upgrading all to 2003, if I do that can I just add the user to a global junk senders list?

Bring up Exchange System Manager... Expand GLobal Settings... Right click on Message Delivery... choose the Sender Filtering tab. Add your jerk@user.com to the list. Click ok. Part 1 done.

Still in Exchange System Manager... Expand Admin Groups...first admin group...servers... servername...protocols...smtp...Default SMTP Server... click click there and go to properties. Make sure you have an IP in the "IP Address" drop down and NOT all unassigned. Click advanced. highlight the correct IP. Click edit. CHECK the apply Sender filter. Click ok a bunch of times. You did it.

I don't think you need to restart the SMTP server, but you might... If so, right click on the Default SMTP server... stop and then start.

Your mileage may vary, but this is how I do it and it works for me.
