blank report

I have a crystal 8.5 report called a job spec report.
it goes after dbase goldmine directly. no odbc connection.
when the report is run, sometimes the report comes back blank and then maybe refresh on the 3rd try it will grab the data.
the data is there and like i state for the current record it may or may not bring back the data. any ideas?
is the problem
1) crystal - uninstall and reinstall?
2) goldmine - unistall and reinstall?
3) windows enviorment - reload the laptop??

Have you tried to see if the problem goes away if you switch to ODBC?

going to reload crystal and reload goldmine then i'll try that. thanks
