ok, here it is in a nutshell. i have a Dell PowerEdge 400SC running windows small business server 2003. I had recently downloaded an email attachment naively and apparently got a virus. When i went to reboot the computer, the splash screen appears as normal, but when the login screen is supposed to appear, i just have a grey background with no mouse, and no login screen. completely unresponsive. I have tried the LSASS.exe approach, to no avail. i learned that i had Trojan.Vundo and have cleaned it out using safe mode. also in safe mode, i have checked to use only basic startup and services, but still, no avail. i cannot get the login screen to appear. any help at this point would be very appreciated. thank you, Xenon Industries.

Can you get or do you have a clean recent backup?

Tony
