Has anyone experienced their backup logs being "BLANK". We're using 7.2.1 and 7.3.2 in our environment, and it happens in both. It had never happened in version 7.0. We're using the BLAT utility that sends the contents of a file in an e-mail message using the SMTP protocol.

Thanks for any help.

So - is the file blank or is the message not triggered?

The email message is delivered -but it arrives "blank" - no content at all

OK - what's the contents of your savegroup notification?

I normally get this:
Non-Core completed
Succeeded: pnl36

--- Successful Save Sets ---

pnl36: SYSTEM FILES:\ level=skip, 0 KB 00:04:05 0 files
pnl36: SYSTEM DB:\ level=full, 1625 KB 00:00:24 10 files
pnl36: SYSTEM STATE:\ level=full, 20 MB 00:00:26 17 files
* pnl36:D:\ save: File D:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\SAVRT\0733NAV~.TMP could not be opened and was not backed up. (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.)
pnl36: D:\ level=1, 102 MB 00:06:37 2085 files
pnl36: C:\ level=1, 312 MB 00:05:34 759 files
pnlbk.pnl.gov: index:pnl36 level=1, 1790 KB 00:00:02 53 files

Sometimes users are receiving empty logs - it doesn't list backed up savesets - it is just empty. There is no problem with the backup - the data is being backed up successfully when I check details from the group. The problem is that when this happens, I get 1,000 calls from users asking if their data was backed up.

That's why i asked for the savegroup notification. The action field is what matters.

In general, you should check whether the file you want to attach is written at all (or whether it is empty or non-existent) or whether the action command itself executes wrong.

Or are you talking about the client's user notification? - In this case you have to check the action here.
