bkup of ss hangs after change to admin password

Running backup of system state hangs if I change the administrator password to something other than the original installation password. It seems to hang during the backup of the active directory, backup is approximately 75% complete when it hangs. When changing administrator password is there some other action required
or some other location where I need to match the password?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I discovered all I needed to do was log out and logon with the new password, sorry for wasting your time and space.
