How do I flash a new bios update in Windows XP home?

Hi,
The operating system has nothing to do with flashing the BIOS.

Go to the web-site that relates to your motherboard and find the BIOS update - Full instructions will be given there.

The following thread may be worth reading, if it was please award a star to the one who posted.

thanks for your input but it makes a big difference because windows XP doesn't boot to DOS like the earlier versions.I have a SOYO dragon ultra platinum P4 MOBO.There web site lists how to do this in win98 not XP,unless I overlooked something.

First, I have never used Windows XP!

Well, what you need to do is create a Dos boot disk. Go into settings, click add programmes, select the tab called startup disk (You will need a floppy disk to hand).

Use that disk to boot to DOS.

Second, if you can't boot your machine to DOS, you are not going to be able to flash the BIOS.

Regards.
