Im trying to flash my gigabyte motherboard GA-6BXC V.F3 (via dos) yet when I go to do that and tell the flash program which bios I want (the one gigabyte had on their website) 6BXC.F4c it says bios ID Error...I have followed the outlined manual by Gigabyte (the one on their website) yet it doesn't say how to troubleshoot...I just wondered if it was safe to proceed using the bios even though it's telling me id error or???? Anyways thanks for the help in advance...

What should I do about flashing the bios if I can't seem to flash it with the updates I need???

If you can't get a bios update and loader that don't give you errors your only choice is to live with it the way it is or get a new motherboard. You might want to check the existing bios for any kind of protection in place and get another floppy in case that is bad.

This has been pulled off of Gigabytes website:
Awdflash utility shows "The program's part number does not match with your system." error message when update beta BIOS version F4a?

Please ignore this error message and continue flashing. Or you can use quick update BIOS mode, for example, type "Awdflash 6BXC.F4a /sn /py /cc /r", and then press key.

Does this relate to my problem and should I go ahead with Gigabytes info???

Sorry can I listen to Gigabytes advice or do you think I should still not flash??

No more problems...I flashed even though it said error and the compy worked and the hard drives can now be detected....
