Bios 6.00pg support for 40GB HDD

Hello,

I have a HP BRIO PIII MMX 500MHZ PC. Bios is award modular 6.00PG. I tried connecting a seagate 40GB HDD. The seagate hdd is recognized at the bios level. But when I try HHD dedection for size, it simply hangs saying dedectinh ids HDD.

I assume with that processor, that you've got a BAX model. This probably isn't what you want to hear, but have a look at this:

I'm not sure if adding an IDE controller card would work or not, but if you could scrounge one up, it might be worth a try.
