I have Backup Exec 9.1 configured to use an Exchange agent to back up our Exchange 2003 server. We perform a full backup on Monday at 6PM and then perform Incremental backups from Midnight Tuesday all the way to Sunday every six hours.

Today I saw this in the Job Log for our 6AM Incremental backup:

Backup Set Information

Family Name: "Media created 3/23/2005 8:42:17 PM"
Backup of "\\ZEUS\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group "
Backup set #75 on storage media #11
Backup set description: "Exchange Incremental"
Backup Type: INCREMENTAL - Logs (flush committed logs)
Microsoft Exchange Server Agent: Started

Backup Set Summary

Backed up 1 Exchange Server store(s)
Backed up 0 Exchange Server log(s)
Processed 26,215,040 bytes in 8 seconds.
Throughput rate: 188 MB/min
======

As you can see, this backup is configured to backup transaction logs only, flushing the committed logs.

The backups are being reported as successful and this backup even indicates that 26MB of data was backed up.

So why does it say "Backed up 1 store" and "Backed up 0 log(s)." instead saying it backed up 0 stores and a specific number of logs, which happens to be what it actually did?

Thanks.
