When I attempt a Colorado Backup, the computer locks up at the very end. When I abort out (cntrl/Alt/del) i get a message that says bewin32 is not responding. In talking with a friend about it, I was told to delete the files in SYSTRAY before backup. 1) I am afraid to do this. 2) If I do it, will they come back at reboot? 3) If it is practical, how do I get access to SYSTRAY to delete them? I am using Windows 98.

Your friend should have said "shutdown" the programs running in Systray, not delete them.

You should *shutdown* everything except Explorer and Systray before starting your backup.

Use Control-Alt-Del and highlight the remaining programs one at a time, and click End. Once you're down to Explorer and Systray, fire up the backup.

By the way, I'm pretty sure BEWIN32.EXE is the Colorado Backup Exec program, so this may or may not fix your program. It's worth a shot though.

Oh, and all those running programs will automatically start again after you reboot your PC.

Check this thread479-208576. In addition, this question would be much better suited to forum479.

hehe I was wondering why this was in e-mail...
