We will be breaking our network up tomorrow and need to change the PDC from an offsite location to one that is in-house (this server is currently a BDC).

I was wondering what is the best way to take take these servers offline when we promote the BDC?

We have an Exchange 5.5 server as well as 15 W2K/NT servers on the network.

Should I power down the servers?
Should I simply logoff the network?
Should I just leave them up?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Convert the BDC to PDC in the server manager and on the workstations you should log off and login...

There is no need for a server reboot.

Just be warned that when you do it, any connections to either server will be closed, as it has to stop the netlogon service on both machines, before demotion/promotion. [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K
