I want to get some input on how everyone is setting up their Auto Attendants in VMPRO.

Do you use Shortcodes in Manager to point to Short Codes in VMPRO (Voicemail Node)

Do you use Modules?

what impacts do they have between them?

Anything else to watch out for.

Best practices for new installs?

Thanks!

Both Modules & Shortcodes work well
usualy I route to a short code because it is easier to test befor the VM goes live.

I would also recomend that if you have comlex call flows then linking to seperate modules can make thisgs easier to follow when changes are required. Experiment & see what works best for your customers specific requirements what is good for 1 site may not be best for another.

The usual rule for system setup applies K.I.S.S
Keep It Simple Stupid

Shortcodes in the IP Office can be routed to Modules in the VMPro with no problem, just use "modulename" as the telephone number for VoicemailCollect.

So it doesn't have to be shortcode to shortcode start point, it can be shortcode to module. In return you gain the flexibilty of modules in including them in other callflows, import and export, etc.

Good point Sizbut, Having been programming VM Pro from V1.0, I sometimes forget the improvements made by Avaya

I allways use the good old Alchemy way:

In Incomming call route/Destination: VM:XXX
Where XXX is the modulename.

Works like a charm.

As NuggiFirst but with the following advice:
If the modulename equals a group name then if VM died the calls are presented to the group and they don't dissapear in the IP Office

Yep!

Earlier (in 1.4 and before), when there where no fallback on incomming call route, this was the easiest way to make a fallback.
