best setup for 56kv90 modem???

why o why is my modem so slow got 56kv90 on cable line but need to shave twice waiting for pages can anyone advise helpfull hints as new to the forum world

How can you have 56k modem on cable??? You don't have a cable modem?? or are you on a regular dialup.

If you have a slow dialup modem, then how long is your telephone line to the wall? Is it close to anything electrical or magnetic? Can you test connection on a different outlet?

Also, you might have bad lines coming into the house. Only way to tell is have phone company check lines coming to house.

Lots of reasons make 56k modems slow.
