I'm connecting to a remote site via a les circuit.

router at remote site, 2 ethernet interfaces, 192.168.1.1 at interface at remote site 192.168.2.2 on interface connected to les circuit at remote site, 192.168.2.1 at local site on switch.

would it be better practise to connect the 2.2 interface directly to another router rather than the switch?

Sorry I forgot to add, the remote site connects to another subnet for services so 1.1 has to go through the router over les through switch over to another internal router seperating 2.0 and 3.0.

So is essence the 1.0 has to get to 3.0 through a switch on a different subnet.

Nah that's fine. Only thing with LES circuits we find is that devices don't always set correct speed/duplex especially on 100M.
