I'm configuring a new server for our dedicated SQL Server machine. It's an HP Proliant DL380 G4 with 3ghz processor and 3 gigs of RAM.
I have 6 72 gig hard drives in it and I'm trying to decide on the best RAID configuration. Usualy I seperate the OS on a RAID1 (2 disk) logical drive and then use a RAID5(3 disk) for my DB Files and then have a spare.
Any suggestions besides that? I was thinking of doing a RAID1+0 (4 disk) and using 2 as hotspare, but this would keep my OS and DB files on the same Logical disk.
What do you guys think?
Thanks!
