Looking for suggestions on the best solution for a small office. 2 win2k servers, 10 workstations, I need something that will let me manage everything from one system. I was considering Norton Small Business, but would like other suggeations or opinions.

We've used Sophos ( for several years and have very good success with it. Their support staff is second to none, very responsive. Highly recommended!

There's no place like 127.0.0.1.

We use Sophos as well. You can get you servers to auto update and then roll out as and when required. (As a new identity is released it will update).
Support has been great although we have had a few niggles where it nails 100% cpu for sometime. But usually a reinstall will fix it.

Trend Office has a nice enterprise solution that pushes updates out automatically.

One that I have used in the past on networked systems is eTrust by CA.
Great Antivus program and does monitoring of incoming and outgoing files on a network

Norton is good, but pricy for SME- or SOHO-type installations.

You could try F-Prot ( they charge $50 pa for a commercial licence that allows you to run the s/w on up to 10 machines, or $29 pa for a personal license (I think this covers up to 5 machines in your home). 30 day trial downloads are availbale from the site.

We use AVG7 ( for around 80 machines.

The Network administration tool and layout is very informative and easy to use, you can see exactly what version of AVG and what definitions the workstations are using.

The support is extremely good, you generally get a responce back within 5-10 minutes.
