BEREMOTE not starting

I ripped my hair out for a week on this one. Sorry if this was already posted somewhere... but I felt it necessary to share.

BEREMOTE was not starting on one of my servers. Services was just stuck on "Starting"

The solution was:

In Internet Explorer, the Default Mail Client needs to be set to OUTLOOK and not OUTLOOK EXPRESS

Fixed my problem right now. Don't know why it was an issue, but I stumbled across a google posting and it fixed it.

Ok.... that's cool... except I wasn't getting an error. The beremote service was just stuck on "Starting".

Nothing in the error logs, no pop-ups, nothing.

I thought you guys might like to file it away for future reference.
