being monitored by router logging

my work has given me cisco 837 adsl router to allow me to work from home during periods. I am concerned that there maybe logging my activities, what can check to make sure the router is not monitoring activities whether it is http ftp etc

I am able to log onto the router and I know basics commands but any further help would be appreciated.

sh users is a command will tell you if someone is logged in to your cisco box.

sh logging will give logs of router.

sh history will show some last run commands.

but your problem is hacking ... if someone is monitoring your activity you can actually install personal firewall in your workstation. Using VPN tunnel to reach your corporate network is better solution.

Thanks reliancetech for your suggestions, they have helped.

I do have vpn connection into my work and that is what I am worried about. I do not want work employees logging http requests from my router, can this be done? Or even viewing DNS requests as well as they will give as much information as anything else. I have a wireless router plugged into my adsl router, the wireless router has a firewall, so I am fairly sure my workstation won't get hacked. i am mainly concerned about be monitored.

After running sh logging it looks like all logging is disabled, should I need to check anything else?

You could post the config and we could take a look. I would suggest that you disable http server and change the enable password on the router. Also I would not setup a site to site VPN connection from home to work as we monitor everything at work and if home net is always on then I could be monitored. I only use VPN client connection to connect to work so therfore only have the potential to be monitored while connected. Terminate VPN and no big brother watching.

if you're going through a proxy or something liekthat you are monitored but you won't see anything of that in your router config.

So would it be safe to say that providing I am not going through a proxy, there is no way to monitor http requests from the router?

Hello there, if your ISP is your corporate network then anything you do can be monitored from the other end and there is nothing you could do to stop it. If this is a concern, you will be better off to use the service provided by your company to work related issues only and use your private ISP for the rest.... Just my opinion. Cheers
