Hi, this is so frustrating. I used AppWazard to creat a MFC application. In the advance options, I set File Extension to "exe". Now everything open inside of my stupid Visual C++ application. I cannot use my computer anymore.

My question is how do I open the AppWazard again for my application. There seems no way you can do it unless you open a "new project". I must be wrong, but i cannot overcome the first barrier. So please help.

Thanks a million!

1. Try to find in registry all places with name of Your application and delete keys/values (with regedit or regedit32).
2. Search for string ".exe" in registry and remove Your application from all keys, where it is.

Hi tchouch,
As per mongoloid thread will he be able to run the regedit.exe?!!. I don't think it will open the regedit.exe

S.Senthil Kumar.

1. From command line, for example.
2. He can change .exe - extension: Regedit.exe to Regedit.com - it will start too. I think, it will be possible to start Explorer with mouse right-click in Start button. If he says, he try to start some applications, he is able to start Explorer.
3. There is another way too: he can write in InitInstance() CreateProcess(...) or spawn() or system() or ShellExecute() with program name from CCommandLineInfo - then his program will easy start all applications. Or more easy, start in InitInstance() regedit.exe.

Yes renaming regedit.exe to regedit.com will definitely launch the registry editor.

Thanks guys, I reinstalled xp since it's getting slow anyways. I knew exactly what I did. I was hoping I could restart the AppWizard so that I can reset the options.
