I am totally new to networking and would very much appreciate any help. I have two computers (one is W2k and the other is XP pro). I have connected them with a cable and each acknowledges that a Local Area Connection exists (100 MPS). What I want to do is file sharing and to be able to use the printer connected to my XP computer with my W2k computer, but I have not figured out how to do this. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'll take an easy way out here, and post this link. It also explains some concepts you should be familiar with. Follow the instructions, and post back if you need additional help.

Good luck, and welcome to networking! :)

is also useful

If your network is operational, all you really need to do is share any drives/folders/printers on either machine. Just right click on drive/folder/printer and click on sharing option.
