Hi

I asked this question once before and had a few suggestions but I'm looking to see if anyone else experieces an issue like this.

We have 4 different sites with this problem. 2 are CS1000M MG Rel. 5.5 and two are CS1000E 5.0.

At these site we use an AT&T conference bridge for teleconference service. When people join or leave the call a staggered tone plays. These tones are not audible on an IP phone. I've tried 1100 and 1200 series phones. I can hear the tones if I use a digital phone at the same site.

I have also noticed a missing tone when our auto dialer sends a call to an agent on an IP phone.

We are using G.711 exclusively and the conference bridge is dialed using an 800 number. ISDN PRIME is used to call the bridge.

Any suggestions?

Use wireshark to capture the audio packets when the IP Phone is connected to the conference bridge. Use the built-in functionality of wireshark to rebuild the audio and see if the tones are heard. That will tell you whether the tones are being dropped before they get converted to IP (maybe by the media card) or by the IP Phone.

Ok I did the wireshark capture and the tones are not there so they are being dropped somewhere in the conversion to IP.

I tried calling the bridge from an ISDN PRIME, a POTS line, and a plain T1. Same results.

Any ideas what to do next?

I should add that the wireshark audio analysis is pretty cool.
