Has anyone been able to get Brightstor BEB 10.5 to report to and be managed by Unicenter?? What little documentation I can find just leaves me staring at the screen in disbelief!

Any experience, suggestions, documents, etc. regarding this would be appreciated!

Not much to it.

Alert has to be installed on the Unicenter system.
Alert from the BEB server sends the messages to Alert on the Unicenter system. Alert on the Unicenter system then updates Unicenter.

The online help is one of the better sources of information. In help go to Contents, Using the Unicenter TNG Option. Then click the box Related Topics. That gets you to a help page complete with images. At the Unicenter end you want to do a discover or just add the BEB objects.

We are unable to get the test file server to send the alerts to the DSM. When we send a test alert, it sends it to the local ALERT but not to the DSM ALERT. Very frustrating!!

BEB sends the alert to the local Alert Manager, which should send it to the Alert Manager on the specified Event Managment Machine and the TNG World View Machine.

Try setting Alert in debug. See faq478-4023" for details.

It might be that it is sending the message but it is not being received. If it is not sending the message try deleting all the previous alerts. Also try sending a different alert to the other system. Maybe a broadcast or SNMP message.
