Do you have to have a Remote Agent license in order to backup a standard Windows XP machine (not a server)?

Yes. Any remote windows resource needs remote agent installed before it will be avalible for backup selection.

As Rols said you need the remote agent installed - but you do not need a license for it as it is only a workstation.

Hmmm, how does that work exactly? How do you install a remote agent without having a serial number for it? (Sorry, a little new to BE :)
