i have a problem with my IBM TS3100 LTO4 Autoloader and Backup Exec 12.
The configuration works fine.
I want to export the tape from the nightly backup. This is needed to exchange the tape against next weeks tape. Also i want to store the tapes in a fire proof safe.
Since BE seems not to be able to chain backup jobs i have created two jobs. One is the nightly backup. The other is an import job. According to the manual BE checks if the loader partition is empty. If not the tape is exported and the system waits for the tape.
So far in theory. It works fine. But my import job is scheduled to run at 8 am next morning. It should then wait until someone exchanges the tapes. BUT IT DOES NOT!
The system will wait approximately 40 minutes. Then the tape in the IO station is brought back into the loader partition.
I have switched off the auto ok on the warnings. In the TS3100 i did not find any configuration option about any time out.
Does anyone know how i can handle this?
