All Avaya CM version 5.1.x.

I was troubleshooting a problem with an IP trunk group (one way audio until someone picked up a phone) and used a command called "refresh ip-route" hoping it was just a problem with routing to the network gateway. Turns out there's a HUGE bug associated with this command.

If you execute this command, it will cause all of your IP stations to lose registration with their associated C-Lan boards.

The quick fix was to busy and unbusy the C-Lan board. That allowed the phones to re-register.

There's a PSN for it.

Be careful of this one...

Thanks for posting this dufus2506...

When is the last time you helped someone, just because you were able to?

For the best response to a question, read faq690-6594

dufus2506, were you able to solve your one way audio problem? I'm having a similar issue on an IP tie trunk but only when calling an IP phone. No ring back, but if the person answers, everything works fine.

Thanks.

Yes! I did (finally!) find the trouble. You have exactly the same symptoms I did, so maybe this will help.

Check the IP settings of your Clan and Medpro cards. I'm willing to bet you have an incorrectly set network gateway address on one of them.

First: list ip-interface all

Then: display ip-interface <board-location>

Check the listed gateway addresses. It should be the address of your network gateway. If not, you'll need to busyout the board, change the gateway, and unbusy. Everything should work after that.

Everything is set correctly.
I guess I'll have to keep looking.

Did you check both ends? The problem may be in the distant system.
