I am running Backup Exec 9.0. I have scheduled jobs that run throughout the week. I frequently receive the message:

Do you want to overwrite allocated media 'Slot1 - Weekend 'G''?

Media Overwrite Protection is configured to prompt before overwriting allocated media.

Therefore the backup is stuck loading the media.
We are rotating 7 media sets for the week and also 7 weekend sets.
The tapes are set as overwritable as well as set to Infinite allow append. This error seems to occur randomly regardless of the type of backup.
Any help would be appreciated.

If this is true: The tapes are set as overwritable

Why do you have this alert set:

Media Overwrite Protection is configured to prompt before overwriting allocated media.

Any time you have the popup alert set, the job can not continue until it receives a response to the alert. That's the purpose of the alert prompt - to prompt you for a response.
