I'm using 8.6 with a tape library with bar code reader. The library always does an inventory when its magazines are removed and re-inserted.
Now if I go to BE and run a "scan", it will take the information directly from the library's inventory (the library doesn't go and read the bar codes again), and it matches up exactly, and this takes about 2-3 seconds to complete.
Each time I run a job, it takes the correct tapes, but I always get this error message at the begining of the log:
"The library has detected a inconsistency in its inventory.
1. Redo the library inventory to correct inconsistency.
2. Restart the operation
Check the applications users manual or the hardware users manual for specific instructions on redoing the library inventory."
Does this indicate a "true" problem? Am I better off running an inventory from BE instead of a scan?
Thanks.
