Hello .. I'm having problems joining a BDC to a domain. I get the message, "The domain controller for the domain can not be located" Is there a trick when installing a BDC?, as I cannot ping the machine either.

Thanks,
kovacs

Thanks for the response, I'm joining an NT domain.

try to add the computer name in server manager before joining this computer to the domain...and of course, check your connectivity like ping each other...

SET CRTL ALT DEL = #728

I can't ping is the problem now, seems as if there is problems with the installation of the network card. Without joing the domain, the installtion will not proceed. I've tried two NICs, with the same result. There must be a 'trick' to it.

Problem Solved. The network card wasn't properly installing. I had to reset the machine and re-install the card with DHCP enabled.

Thanks
