Hallo, we have got a Definity Release 10 csi with Compact Call Center.
We have a problem to install BCMS Vu software. That BCMS Vu softwre working with C-LAN?
I can not administer BCMS Vu software through C-LAN board. (I have install wersion from 1997 year). I dont have active option TCP/IP. How fix this problem?

You will have to upgrade your version of BCMSvu to the latest version or to R2V2 and above.

What version do you have?

Once you have that version you can point the connection to the C-LAN IP address and Port number. You can find that port number under ip-services.

In IP-services you must set up a service for a remote connection to a SAT terminal. If that is already set up, then use the port number for it to connect the BCMSvu to the switch over IP.

Keep in mind, none of this will work unless you have the client/server version of BCMSvu R2V2 or greater (Build 218 or better) Until then, happy netconning!!!

P.S. Check with your supplier to see if there is any service patches or upgrades for the product version you have.

I have version BCMMS Vu Release 2, Where can I find version 2.2?

Do you have an Avaya Vendor or are under a support agreement with Avaya Canada or Avaya USA?

Why I ask is that there is a QPPCN or Quality Protection Plan Change notice 1336B from Avaya to have that software version upgraded to the latest certified version for R10 Definity. It supercedes QPPCN notice 1261B to give you the latest version.

Provided you have your package properly registered with Avaya, you will be eligable for the free upgrade.

You will need to talk to your vendor or Avaya directly to obtain a new version upgrade CD. It is as follows:

CHANGE NOTICE: 1336B Supplement 1

PRODUCT SUMMARY: BCMS VU products
U.S. AND Non-U.S.
CLASS S3 (SOFTWARE) CHANGE
(Release 2 Version 3.1)
CUSTOMER INSTALLABLE
SERVICE INTERRUPTING

Note! This Change Notice supercedes Change Notice 1261B.

Supplement 1 of Quality Protection Plan Change Notice 1336B is being issued to update BCMS VuÒ R2 software versions to BCMS Vu R2 V3.1. This new version is now available for all earlier Release 2 BCMS VU customers that are experiencing problems with their current version that can be resolved with this load. The REASON FOR CHANGE section has been updated listing fixes in R2 V3.1. Material ordering code will remain the same.

REASON FOR CHANGE Listed below are fixes in R2V3.1
1. Real-time and Historical reports do not work properly with DEFINITY Release 10 and higher when set for non-EAS and with “BCMS/VuStats LoginIDs” field turned to yes.
2. Customers with AdvaTel* wallboards that exhibit occasional glitches. (Note: AdvaTel Wallboard Firmware needs to be upgraded to V1.00i.01).

For non-U.S., refer administrative questions pertaining to 1336B or this Supplement to the ITAC/GSO Change Notice Administration Group on 720-444-9116.

For Technical questions pertaining to the application of this Change Notice, refer to your Maintenance Escalation Procedure.

Thanks for info, I'll check the misses materials.
By the way, I have a problem to connect software BCMS through data module.
The hardware key is connected to LPT port unfortunately
while running BCMS Serwer I have the message:
"BCMS Vu Serwer has been unble to locate a hardware key."
Is there any special procedure to running BCMS Vu (hardware key)?

jasiek:

You are hurting there with this software.

Are you using a Dell PC for this application?

I have found in the past that Dells with a particular printer port option (I think it is ECP or two way printing communications does not work properly with this key). I have also found the key actually was blown and rendered useless. Lucent did have a batch of then back then that were defective and prone to failure.

One of my customers went through 3 of them before we found one that worked. (I am sure they have that problem fixed now)

Anyhow, if you are getting this message, I suspect this key is blown and will need to be replaced. (I hope you have a maintenance agreement!!)

Install the server application on another PC with the same key and see if the problem follows. If it does the key is blown and you will have to get it replaced. If it works, then your printer port on your original computer is defective, or you have plugged it into the comm port instead.

The printer port on a computer is the 25 pin "FEMALE" connecter, not the 25 pin male connecter.

Good Luck!!!

P.S. The update software does not come with a new key.
